America's Cup Final Posted: Thursday, June 14, 2007
In the last couple of weeks it seems all of New Zealand has woken up and realised that Emirates Team New Zealand is a very good sailing team. As evidence, one needs only to look around at the toll all the late nights have taken on the many sailors and non-sailors staying awake to watch the Louis Vuitton Cup live. Hopefully ETNZ can win 5-0 and Bertarelli's recent bluster seems a sign of weakness. If the boats are evenly matched then ETNZ's battle hardened crew work should see them win out. Thus Alinghi's only chance at victory is to turn up with a faster boat, which they have been consistently able to do throughout the America's Cup practice regattas. One way or another all will be revealed during the first race on 23rd June. I for one can't wait.
